Athletics Zones

Hey bloggers! Last Thursday, the people who made it to athletics zones, went to Three Kings Park to compete in zones. My events were four hundred meter run, one hundred meter sprints, relays and shotput. By the time all the schools came, it was raining a little. Our school was the host so Ms Sands said the first event would be the eight hundred metre run. Next was two hundred meter run. I was so nervous because it was so close to the four hundred meter run. Next it was the hundred metre run so I went and I ran as hard as I could but I came fourth.  Next was the four hundred metre run so I went up again. I came fifth. After that, my ankle was really sore so I got some ice and put it on my foot. Next I went up to do shot put. My best record was seven point one metres. But it was raining too much so everything got canceled and I went home with my mun instead of going back to school.

I think that day was really fun but sad that I hurt my foot. Blog you later!

Intermediate visit

 Hi bloggers!

Today, (twenty seventh of November) the year 6s that are going to Waikowhai Intermediate went to the intermediate to get to know which class they are in. Me and Indie were in the same class. We  had Mr Swan. He was the computer leader and he was really funny. He was super nice and Grayson and Sema was in the same class as us. First, he showed us a slideshow about him and the school. There was also a video about his class. Next we got an Ipad and we did a scavenger hunt on it. There was a digital version of the school that Mr Swan made. He made a sheet of paper that had ten questions on it.  We completed the whole sheet.

At the end, we went back to the hall and the principal (Mr King)  said some stuff about the school. Then we back to our school.

At the end, me and Indie was really happy because we were in the same class. Bye bloggers!

Bike Skills

 Hey bloggers!

On the twenty third of November, Hauraki had their bike skills lesson. There were two instructors named Holly and Shell. First they gave us helmets and we put them on. After that we got split into two groups and did a few laps of the court on our bikes. Next Holly put some cones out and we had to zigzag around them. We all said it was so easy so she put all the cones on the ground. Then it started to get challenging. After we played a game called the Box Game. It was a game where you ride around in a circle and try to stay in the box and avoid other players. And the area kept on getting smaller. We played a few rounds. Next, Holly taught us the ABCD checklist. A stands for air in the tyre. B stands for brakes. C stands for control. And D stands for drop test. Also we do a quick release test. After that we did a turtle race. It was to see if you could get to the finish line the slowest.

In our second session, we learned some road signals like left, right and stop. Next we did a game called follow the leader and we did it on the field. Next we played another game called figure of eight. We had to keep riding in a eight shape. It was pretty hard. At the end we played a giant Box game.

I think that day was really fun  because we learnt hand signals and played lots of fun games too.

Here are some photos and bye bloggers!

Skateboarding

 Hey bloggers!

Today (20th November) Hauraki did their first Skateboarding lesson.

First we chose a skateboard and put our helmet on. Then we did a few laps around the court and we got split into two groups. There were two coaches. Their names were Lawrence and Ben. First we learned how to Tic Tac.  That is when you lift the board up by putting pressure on the tail ( back of the board) and moving the board left then right.  Next we went on the grass and put the board upside down on our feet. We jumped up, flipped our board with our feet and landed on our board. It was too easy for me and Daiki so we did a one- eighty degrees turn onto our board. After that we put the board so the top side of it was facing our heels and touching our heels. Then we lifted our board with our feet and landed on it. Me and Daiki did a one-eighty on that too.

In the afternoon Hauraki is going to have another session and I can't wait! I really liked having the lesson because I learned how to ride a Skateboard and learn some tricks.

OK, We did our second session and it was really fun. We did lots of games of "What's Up Wolf!" I came second in almost every one. The second session was almost the same but we got more free time! Me and Daiki went on the ramps.  Daiki fell over and his knee was bleeding a little bit. But anyway It's fine now.

I had fun because I learned new stuff like riding a skateboard and how to do Tic Tacs.

Here are some photos of the day.

 Bye bloggers!

Production

Hi bloggers! On the fourth, fifth and sixth of November Waikowhai Primary did our production in front of an audience! Our production was based on the story... ALADDIN! But, we renamed it Jasmine and Aladdin! It was one and a half hours long.

My favorite part of the production was inside the cave of wonders, where Aladdin finds the lamp and where the Genie first appears. I came out on scene ten where some people came out and did a dance. Lots of people cheered and clapped.

Brittany was Jasmine, Masi was Aladdin, Ari was the Genie, Jonathon was Geewiz and Aysha was Omar. Backstage was pretty big and there was a room where we could put our props. Some boys changed in there. After the  three shows, it took almost an hour to clear up everything and clean up everything in the hall.

I think the show was a success and we tried really hard. I'm pretty sure everybody else would think that too. My family came to the show on Thursday and they said it was really good.
Here are some photos of the three days.
Bye bloggers!

Te Reo comic strip

Kia Ora bloggers! This week was Maori language week so I made a comic strip with Maori words only. Down below are my comic strips and I am working on part 4. I had lots of fun making these and I will probably make more. On part 1, Tena koe means hello. Kei te purei Ahau I te Undertale means I am playing Undertale. (Undertale is a video game). Here are my strips.

I used google drawings not pen and paper.
I hope you had fun in Maori language week too.
Blog you later!

Basketball Kiwi-sport

Hey Bloggers! On Wednesday, we did a new Kiwi-sport and it was basketball. Two guys who's names were Mikey and Ronan came and taught us. Both of them were really tall. First we played Turtle Tag. It is a game exactly like tag but if you get tagged, you have to lie on your back until somebody came and lifted you up. Next, we played a game called Dribble king.  It is a game where you keep on dribbling the ball and try not to lose your ball when other players come and try to take it. Then we did some dribbling exercises. Like through the legs or behind your back dribbles. Then we played a game where you have to keep the ball for ten seconds. Then you just stay defending the ball. If the defender takes your ball, you are out. That was all we did. It was extremely fun. If you like basketball, I hope you get to have basketball for your Kiwi-sport too. That is all and blog you later!

Matariki rotation

Hi bloggers!
On Thursday we did this Matariki rotation day. It was really fun because we got to, make Maori bread,  did some stop motion about the 7 stars of Matariki or any other Maori myth or legend. We also made kites out of bamboo. There are 3 rooms in our syndicate. In Hauraki we did the kites, In Waitemata, we did the stop motion.  In Manukau we made the bread. I liked making the bread the most because we got to eat it in the end.  We  made the bread with only a few items. Flour, water a bowl, spatula, a frying pan, and tissues. We got to choose what to put on our bread when we got to eat it. I chose to put butter and syrup on mine. It was super yum.
For the kite making, me, Daiki, Caja and Ibrahim were asked to make the giant one. We finished it successfully.
For stop motion, me, Daiki and Caja worked together and made one about the 7 stars of Matariki.
Here are some photos of the day. See u later bloggers!

Cross Country👟👟👟

Cross country
On Thursday this week, we did cross country. We had to run around the whole school two times.  It was very very hard but I came fourth. There was also six activities that included Tennis, Handball, getting ready to run, Rest,  Run and Blindfolds. I am a year six, so I ran the Tennis station with Pao, Hosanna, and Disaree.
We had an early morning tea at ten thirty. Cross country started at eleven fifteen and ended at two o'clock.  All the year groups stayed together and went to all the activities.  The year sixes ran last. If you come first, second, third, fourth, or fifth, you get a card and that means you are going to zones. Me and all my friends made it to zones. Well, that was all we did on the day.
I liked hosting the Tennis and it was fun. But the run was SO tiring!
please comment and blog you later. Also, here are some photos of the day.

Poetry Competition

Hi bloggers!!! on Monday this week, we did a poetry competition.  Our class (Hauraki) went into the yellow space.  We first decided the order.  We all got handed sheets and we marked the person who was presenting. When it was my turn, my legs were shaking! There were 5 things to mark them on and on each column, you can mark them out of 5. The highest amount of points you can get in total is 25 points. For me, Rudy and Jonathon got the highest points: 22. I think I did well. A few people will go into the finals. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th places get prizes.
About 6 weeks ago,  the teachers  told us to find a poem. And we used that to enter the poetry competition.
That is all, bloggers!

Toolkits

TOOLKITS
Hi bloggers! Yesterday we did online Toolkits. We went to the hall with our own chrome books and first did a google meet with all the other schools that were participating.  There were three sessions. At nine fifteen, our first session started. I chose to do the remove background Toolkit.  There was a link to each google meet where the presenters would explain how to do it.  In the second session, I chose the scratching games toolkit. For the last session, I did Piskel.  I LOVED going to the Toolkits and it was really really fun. I learned lots of things like removing the background from and image, code and make games and draw a pixel image and make it as a GIF. Here are some images from the sessions.  That's it bloggers!

Reading task

Hey bloggers! On Wednesday this week, for reading I chose to make a Kahoot about the journal we had to read about at home. Kahoot is a site where you can make quizzes for people. The story that I chose was called White Shoes.  White shoes is a story about a kid who learns about his Maori culture and his view about his culture. I let Jonathon and Tristan try the Kahoot. Tristan came first. It took almost the whole reading session to make it.  It was fun making it and seeing who would win the kahoot. That is all so, Bye bloggers!

                                                              Hi bloggers!
On  4th of November, Monday, in the afternoon we had a special assembly about the friendship  garden and the cultural people. We sang the school song in house groups. Next the oldest and the youngest students from school cut the ribbon that was around the friendship garden. Then we walked to a really big gum tree and some students pulled some cloaks off cardboard cultural people. after it was done we went back to our class.

Here are some photos.

corona-virus lock down

Hi bloggers! because of the corona-virus we are all in lock down for four weeks.  I have been doing
loads of fun things at home.
Firstly I unpacked some of my Lego that I didn't unpack when I moved here, and some of them were broken so I had to fix them.
Secondly me and my family finished a one thousand piece puzzle. It took about two weeks to finish.
The sky was the hardest bit. We had to just see if the piece fit and look at the different shades of blue the sky was. The picture of the puzzle is just down below.
I also finished a book series called the dalemark quartet. Thank you for reading this blog and please comment.☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

Swimming FUN!

Hey bloggers!
In week 5 Te Waka Ako have been going to Cameron pools for lessons.
Some people are training for zones and they have an extra lesson. We go on Tuesdays and Thursdays to Cameron pools. In week 7 when we went to Cameron pools, we did this water safety thing. It was so fun.  We had to put on life jackets and we were put into groups. We made a long line and all the other groups joined on. After we all took turns going on the boat and we fell into the water on our backs. I back flipped in the water. I felt like it was only 5 minutes but it was actually 30 minutes. Do you want to see a photo? Look below.

Self portraits

'Sup bloggers!!
Welcome to my blog!

For the past term, we have been working on our self portraits. This year it has been really interesting and pretty fun. This year's topic is decades. You split the paper in half. (I mean draw a line in the middle, not cut the paper). One side is a photo of yourself, but on the other side... we draw a picture of ourselves in any decade. We have 1 practice  drawing. For the real one, we drew an outline of our photo on one side of the paper.  And around it, we drew simple patterns. Next  we drew our 2000's or lower form. After that we colored that side. We also dyed the background. Everyone's portrait is really cool. Everyone is almost finished. I have finished mine. Here is a photo.
Please comment and blog you later!
