Athletics Zones

Hey bloggers! Last Thursday, the people who made it to athletics zones, went to Three Kings Park to compete in zones. My events were four hundred meter run, one hundred meter sprints, relays and shotput. By the time all the schools came, it was raining a little. Our school was the host so Ms Sands said the first event would be the eight hundred metre run. Next was two hundred meter run. I was so nervous because it was so close to the four hundred meter run. Next it was the hundred metre run so I went and I ran as hard as I could but I came fourth.  Next was the four hundred metre run so I went up again. I came fifth. After that, my ankle was really sore so I got some ice and put it on my foot. Next I went up to do shot put. My best record was seven point one metres. But it was raining too much so everything got canceled and I went home with my mun instead of going back to school.

I think that day was really fun but sad that I hurt my foot. Blog you later!

Intermediate visit

 Hi bloggers!

Today, (twenty seventh of November) the year 6s that are going to Waikowhai Intermediate went to the intermediate to get to know which class they are in. Me and Indie were in the same class. We  had Mr Swan. He was the computer leader and he was really funny. He was super nice and Grayson and Sema was in the same class as us. First, he showed us a slideshow about him and the school. There was also a video about his class. Next we got an Ipad and we did a scavenger hunt on it. There was a digital version of the school that Mr Swan made. He made a sheet of paper that had ten questions on it.  We completed the whole sheet.

At the end, we went back to the hall and the principal (Mr King)  said some stuff about the school. Then we back to our school.

At the end, me and Indie was really happy because we were in the same class. Bye bloggers!

Bike Skills

 Hey bloggers!

On the twenty third of November, Hauraki had their bike skills lesson. There were two instructors named Holly and Shell. First they gave us helmets and we put them on. After that we got split into two groups and did a few laps of the court on our bikes. Next Holly put some cones out and we had to zigzag around them. We all said it was so easy so she put all the cones on the ground. Then it started to get challenging. After we played a game called the Box Game. It was a game where you ride around in a circle and try to stay in the box and avoid other players. And the area kept on getting smaller. We played a few rounds. Next, Holly taught us the ABCD checklist. A stands for air in the tyre. B stands for brakes. C stands for control. And D stands for drop test. Also we do a quick release test. After that we did a turtle race. It was to see if you could get to the finish line the slowest.

In our second session, we learned some road signals like left, right and stop. Next we did a game called follow the leader and we did it on the field. Next we played another game called figure of eight. We had to keep riding in a eight shape. It was pretty hard. At the end we played a giant Box game.

I think that day was really fun  because we learnt hand signals and played lots of fun games too.

Here are some photos and bye bloggers!

Skateboarding

 Hey bloggers!

Today (20th November) Hauraki did their first Skateboarding lesson.

First we chose a skateboard and put our helmet on. Then we did a few laps around the court and we got split into two groups. There were two coaches. Their names were Lawrence and Ben. First we learned how to Tic Tac.  That is when you lift the board up by putting pressure on the tail ( back of the board) and moving the board left then right.  Next we went on the grass and put the board upside down on our feet. We jumped up, flipped our board with our feet and landed on our board. It was too easy for me and Daiki so we did a one- eighty degrees turn onto our board. After that we put the board so the top side of it was facing our heels and touching our heels. Then we lifted our board with our feet and landed on it. Me and Daiki did a one-eighty on that too.

In the afternoon Hauraki is going to have another session and I can't wait! I really liked having the lesson because I learned how to ride a Skateboard and learn some tricks.

OK, We did our second session and it was really fun. We did lots of games of "What's Up Wolf!" I came second in almost every one. The second session was almost the same but we got more free time! Me and Daiki went on the ramps.  Daiki fell over and his knee was bleeding a little bit. But anyway It's fine now.

I had fun because I learned new stuff like riding a skateboard and how to do Tic Tacs.

Here are some photos of the day.

 Bye bloggers!

Production

Hi bloggers! On the fourth, fifth and sixth of November Waikowhai Primary did our production in front of an audience! Our production was based on the story... ALADDIN! But, we renamed it Jasmine and Aladdin! It was one and a half hours long.

My favorite part of the production was inside the cave of wonders, where Aladdin finds the lamp and where the Genie first appears. I came out on scene ten where some people came out and did a dance. Lots of people cheered and clapped.

Brittany was Jasmine, Masi was Aladdin, Ari was the Genie, Jonathon was Geewiz and Aysha was Omar. Backstage was pretty big and there was a room where we could put our props. Some boys changed in there. After the  three shows, it took almost an hour to clear up everything and clean up everything in the hall.

I think the show was a success and we tried really hard. I'm pretty sure everybody else would think that too. My family came to the show on Thursday and they said it was really good.
Here are some photos of the three days.
Bye bloggers!

Te Reo comic strip

Kia Ora bloggers! This week was Maori language week so I made a comic strip with Maori words only. Down below are my comic strips and I am working on part 4. I had lots of fun making these and I will probably make more. On part 1, Tena koe means hello. Kei te purei Ahau I te Undertale means I am playing Undertale. (Undertale is a video game). Here are my strips.

I used google drawings not pen and paper.
I hope you had fun in Maori language week too.
Blog you later!

Basketball Kiwi-sport

Hey Bloggers! On Wednesday, we did a new Kiwi-sport and it was basketball. Two guys who's names were Mikey and Ronan came and taught us. Both of them were really tall. First we played Turtle Tag. It is a game exactly like tag but if you get tagged, you have to lie on your back until somebody came and lifted you up. Next, we played a game called Dribble king.  It is a game where you keep on dribbling the ball and try not to lose your ball when other players come and try to take it. Then we did some dribbling exercises. Like through the legs or behind your back dribbles. Then we played a game where you have to keep the ball for ten seconds. Then you just stay defending the ball. If the defender takes your ball, you are out. That was all we did. It was extremely fun. If you like basketball, I hope you get to have basketball for your Kiwi-sport too. That is all and blog you later!
